Our teachers constantly develop new methods to help students speak more in the classroom. Our goal is to ensure that when you step out into the real world, you are comfortable using Chinese.
So What Will I Actually Learn?
Beginner 1: An Introduction to Chinese
You will be introduced to pinyin, pronunciation, characters, and the phrases you need to get started communicating!
At the end of this course you'll be able to greet people, give and find out information, apologize and give thanks, ask for and tell time, ask and answer simple questions about daily life, deal with numbers and quantities, and express simple emotions including likes, dislikes, happiness and sadness.
Beginner 2: Mastering the Basics and Gaining Vocab
In this course you will learn how to describe your health problems to a doctor, describe people you care about (including friends' and families' occupations), arrange to meet up with people, talk about your talents, abilities and what you do for fun, describe changes in someone, including their appearance and character, talk about your experiences, and give reasons for your actions.
Higher levels up to HSK 6 available upon request with a minimum of 3 students.

About Us
Culture Yard is an award-winning language school and culture center based in a cozy hutong courtyard in the heart of Beijing. Established in 2009 as a community for serious language learners, Culture Yard offers Chinese classes from the beginner level to HSK 6.
